On this final day, over 1.3 crore (13 million) devotees took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers. This sacred ritual is believed to cleanse participants of sins and facilitate spiritual renewal. High Court grants bail to chartered accountants in Cox & Kings fraud case.

  Anil Khandelwal and Naresh Jain have been accused of manipulating financial statements to present a healthy financial picture of Cox & Kings Limited (CKL), enabling it to secure substantial loans.  The Bombay High Court has granted bail to two chartered accountants, Anil Khandelwal and Naresh Jain, accused in a large-scale financial fraud involving Cox & Kings Limited (CKL) and multiple financial institutions. The duo have been in custody for nearly four years while awaiting trial. Khandelwal and Jain have already been given bail in the money laundering case investigated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Despite securing bail in five separate cases investigated by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai Police, they remain in custody due to pending bail applications in other cases.                                                   ...

Attacks on minorities in Bangladesh 'can't be an issue for India

  Joining issue with foreign minister S Jaishankar over the "very troubling" incidents of attacks on minorities in Bangladesh, foreign affairs adviser Md Touhid Hossain said it "cannot be an issue for India", while also emphasising that how minorities are treated in India is an internal matter for New Delhi. Jaishankar had also commented that it's up to Bangladesh to decide "what kind of relationship" it wants with India. Jaishankar had Saturday highlighted "two aspects" of what is "very troubling" for India. "The spate of attacks on minorities in Bangladesh, obviously it is something which impacts our thinking and it is something we have to speak up about, which we have done," he said, adding, "The second aspect is they (Bangladesh) have their politics, but at the end of the day, the two countries are neighbours. UK and India relaunch trade talks in Delhi

 The United Kingdom and India have officially resumed negotiations for a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) in New Delhi on February 24, 2025, after a year-long hiatus. UK Business and Trade Secretary Jonathan Reynolds met with Indian Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal to discuss the framework for the agreement, aiming to more than double bilateral trade within the next decade.  The primary objectives for the UK include reducing tariffs on exports such as food, automobiles, and whisky, as well as securing enhanced access for British service providers. Conversely, India is seeking a social security agreement for its workers in the UK and assurances that Indian students can remain in the country for two years post-graduation to gain practical experience.  These discussions mark the 15th round of negotiations since their initiation in January 2022.
