Avalanche hits Uttarakhand's Chamoli, 57 trapped under snow!!

 

In a dramatic twist worthy of a high-altitude thriller, nature pulled an unscripted stunt on February 28, 2025. Near Mâna village in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district, a roaring avalanche transformed a serene snowy backdrop into a scene of urgent rescue—and 57 laborers suddenly found themselves trapped beneath a cold, unforgiving blanket of snow.

Nature’s Unpredictable Plot Twist

Just when the laborers were busy with their construction project under the watchful eye of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), the mountain decided to steal the spotlight. In an unexpected act that no one saw coming, the avalanche crashed onto the scene, turning the quiet winter day into a high-stakes drama. Heavy snowfall had already been playing its part, isolating villages and warning of nature’s might in these lofty terrains.

A veritable ensemble of rescue teams—featuring the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), BRO, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF)—rushed to the stage like seasoned heroes in a rescue saga. With 16 lives already rescued, these brave teams are working against time and treacherous conditions to flip the script in favor of survival.
